Need some practice? Nets have started at Tiffin Sports Centre, London Road, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey KT2 6RL. Everyone welcome.

Starting Sunday 6th February up to an including the 3rd April. The nets will be the same time every week, between 10am and 11am.

Charity Fun Cricket Match for Alexis Sims

Just a quick note to let you know we have scheduled an extra cricket game this season in memory of Alexis to raise money for charity.

This will be a celebration of her life and a fun day for all.

SIR DAVID: "I am never touring again."  (spoken shortly before the France and Portugal tours)
LIPS: "I am retiring." (spoken during Portugal tour and before signing up for Italy)
SPHING: "I will never play for this club again." (spoken on numerous occasions)
THE ENTIRE TEAM: "I'm not drinking this Friday - we've got a big game on the weekend."
RAGS: "I'm going to concentrate on my batting."
TM: "No, I went out to buy some CDs." (every tour)
MUPES: "I am not drinking any stupid drinks tonight."
MAL: "I am happy now - nothing can get me down."

STROPPY: "I don't eat tea" (Spoken when the team had to take it in turns to make it)

Crossbats Cricket Club has joined forces with Hampton Wick Royal Cricket Club. In partnership with HWRCC we can now offer a wider variety of opportunities to club members with league cricket and colts. Crossbats will continue to play "friendly" games with a fixture list built up over the last 15 years.

So if you are young or old and want to play social cricket and perhaps have not played cricket since school we want you! Just fill in the sign up form and we will be in touch.

If you are interested in helping organise or playing Kwick Cricket ( a short form of the game aimed at children age 5 upwards) at Moormead click here

Nothing in club cricket is as controversial as the LBW law. Some would say pub cricket has a different set of laws depending on the circumstance. Disgruntled lower order batsmen are infamous for raising the finger thus insuring a bat later on in the innings. Sadly, if you are a good umpire you will face serious heckling. One feels there is an unwritten law. Back foot, ankle height, middle stump is OUT and only if it's not the first ball. For those who want to know how it should be done click here but don't think if you are any good it means anything.
